In his final semester at Northwestern University School of Law, Weston worked at the Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth as an intensive clinic student, where he helped overturn convictions for two men wrongfully convicted of serious crimes as teenagers.

Weston grew up in Wakefield, NH and attended high school at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH. Weston received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, and, following graduation, completed a Fulbright Scholarship in Morocco. Upon his return to the United States, Weston managed the family business—Sunset Lodges on Lake Winnipesaukee in Tuftonboro, NH—for two years.

Weston now lives in an old farmhouse in Weare, NH with his wife, daughter, and dog. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, refinishing furniture, kayaking, and playing cribbage.
